Akshay Kumar may have dropped a major hint about his next collaboration with filmmaker Anees Bazmee, and the timing has made it even more interesting. On his birthday, September 9, the actor reposted birthday wishes from his co-stars Raashi Khanna and Vidya Balan, as well as Bazmee. His replies repeatedly mentioned the same phrase — “Maujah Hi Maujah”.
Khanna and Balan, who are set to share screen space with Akshay in Bazmee's film, wished the actor on Instagram. Reposting their message on his Stories, Akshay wrote, “Thank you so much, ladies! Clearly, we don't care where we are as long as there's some Maujah Hi Maujah!”
Akshay and Anees Bazmee drop another hint
Bazmee also shared a birthday message for Akshay, recalling their professional association and praising the actor's dedication to cinema.
Akshay reposted the filmmaker's message and responded, “Thank you, Anees ji. Working on your sets, there's only one feeling that comes to mind… Maujah Hi Maujah! So excited for everything that's still to come.”
The repeated use of the phrase has led to speculation that 'Maujah Hi Maujah' could be the title of Akshay and Bazmee's upcoming film. Neither of them, however, has explicitly announced the title in the posts.
The project also features Raashi Khanna and Vidya Balan, both of whom are associated with the film alongside Akshay.
Akshay's next release is 'Haiwaan'
Before the Bazmee collaboration arrives, Akshay is gearing up for the release of 'Haiwaan', which is scheduled to hit theatres this Friday. The Priyadarshan directorial will see Akshay take on a role unlike his previous characters, as he plays an outright antagonist.
Speaking to Hindustan Times City, the actor said, "As the title goes, I am playing Haiwaan and my character has no grey shades, he’s out and out evil. I always wanted to play a psycho on-screen. With my last four-five films, I have tried to switch between completely different genres: comedy, horror, action, drama. This is my first time playing evil in the truest sense. I like to constantly challenge myself and Haiwaan is that challenge for me.”
'Haiwaan' will see Akshay face off against Saif Ali Khan, with Priyadarshan directing the film.
