Delhi Police denies permission for Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert

Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour faces uncertainty after Delhi Police withheld clearance for his October 30 show, citing security concerns and law-and-order commitments

Delhi Police has denied permission for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh's scheduled concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, citing security concerns and the festive season, an official said on Thursday.

The decision comes ahead of the musical event, which was expected to draw a large gathering of fans.

The police have withheld clearance on security grounds, though further details regarding the reasons behind the decision were not immediately available.

Per a report by Hindustan Times, in a letter addressed to BookMyShow, Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) mentioned, "Sir, With reference to your application dated 14.10.2026 on the subject cited above, I am to inform you that your request for organizing "Diljit Dosanjh's Aura India Tour Delhi" at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, on 30.10.2026 has been examined by this office. In view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law & order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law & order concerns, the same cannot be acceded to."

The Delhi performance was supposed to kickstart the India leg of Diljit's Aura World Tour and then travel to six cities—Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh.

As part of the world tour, Diljit has performed in multiple countries in North America, Europe and Australia.
