Preity Zinta has strongly reacted to a viral paparazzi video that suggested she deliberately ignored Aamir Khan during promotions for their upcoming film Batwara 1947, dismissing the claim as “clickbait” and saying she has “a lot of love and respect” for the actor. The video showed Zinta stepping out of her vanity van and walking past Aamir without interacting with him, prompting the paparazzi account to question whether she had ignored the actor. Zinta, however, said she simply did not see him because she was in a hurry.
Responding directly to the post, Zinta criticised the manner in which the video had been presented and said such content unnecessarily promoted negativity. “This kind of click bait content is not cool,” she wrote, before explaining that she had not noticed Aamir while rushing to complete some shots and catch a flight for the promotions of Batwara 1947. She also warned that she might not stop for photographs in future if paparazzi content was going to be used to create negative narratives around her interactions.
Zinta made it clear that there was no tension between her and Aamir, stressing her affection and respect for him. “I have a LOT of love & respect for Aamir so this is not in good taste,” she wrote while rejecting the suggestion that she had intentionally snubbed him. Her clarification sought to put an end to speculation about an awkward moment between the two actors during the promotional campaign.
In the clip, Zinta could be seen emerging from her vanity van and asking photographers where she needed to go. After receiving directions, she quickly walked towards the location indicated by them. Aamir was reportedly standing near his vanity van at the time, but Zinta continued walking without acknowledging him. The paparazzi account subsequently used the moment to suggest that she had ignored him. Zinta’s response made clear that the apparent snub was simply a consequence of her being in a rush and not noticing Aamir.
