Amitabh Bachchan has moved ahead of Shah Rukh Khan in combined social-media following, according to data featured in the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025.
The difference between the two Bollywood superstars is just 1 lakh followers, with Bachchan recording a combined following of 4.87 crore across X, Instagram and LinkedIn. Shah Rukh Khan follows closely with 4.86 crore.
The figures put the veteran actor at the top among prominent personalities tracked in the report, although the margin separating him from Shah Rukh remains extremely narrow.
Hrithik Roshan close behind
Hrithik Roshan occupies the third spot among the leading Bollywood personalities, with 4.81 crore followers across the three platforms.
Together, Bachchan, Shah Rukh and Hrithik account for 14.54 crore followers, keeping Bollywood stars at the top of the social-media rankings featured in the report.
Karan Johar is the next Bollywood personality listed, with a combined following of 1.82 crore.
Tech and business leaders also feature
The list also includes several prominent names from the business and technology sectors.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has 116 lakh followers, while businessman Anand Mahindra has 115 lakh. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has a following of 56 lakh.
Actor and entrepreneur Juhi Chawla and her family have 53 lakh followers, while Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has 24 lakh.
Entrepreneur and producer Ronnie Screwvala features with 19 lakh followers.
Shah Rukh leads wealth ranking
While Bachchan has the edge in the combined social-media count, Shah Rukh Khan ranks higher than him in the wealth section of the Hurun list cited in the report.
Shah Rukh Khan and his family top the Screen and Sport category with an estimated wealth of Rs 10,000 crore. Bachchan follows with an estimated wealth of Rs 4,000 crore.
Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are next, with estimated wealth of Rs 3,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore, respectively.
The figures highlight a narrow gap between Bachchan and Shah Rukh in their combined social-media reach, even as the two actors occupy different positions in the report's wealth rankings.
