Three subjects excluded from current answer key

The provisional answer keys for three subjects: English, Commerce and Sociology have not been released yet.

According to the NTA, a committee has been constituted to examine complaints related to various types of errors in the question papers for these subjects.

Based on the committee's recommendations, the agency will issue a separate public notice concerning English, Commerce and Sociology later on Sunday.

The NTA has advised candidates to rely only on information published through its official website and verified social media handles.

What is UGC-NET?

UGC-NET is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programmes.

The examination consists of two papers. Paper I has 50 questions covering teaching aptitude, reasoning ability and general awareness, while Paper II contains 100 subject-specific multiple-choice questions.

Candidates appearing for the examination can use the provisional answer key to check their responses and raise objections if they believe any answer is incorrect.

CSIR UGC-NET answer key challenge window also open

The NTA also said candidates who appeared for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination can access the provisional answer key and challenge window.

"Please review the details carefully and use the official portal to submit challenges from 16 to 18 August 2026, up to 11:00 PM," it said.

The examination determines eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programmes in institutions across India.
