Salman Khan targeted again; Rs 5 crore demanded to 'stay alive, end enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi'

Salman Khan received a new threat via a message sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai traffic police where the sender demanded Rs 5 crore from the actor if he wanted to “stay alive"

The Mumbai traffic police received a threatening message on Thursday afternoon demanding Rs 5 crore from Bollywood actor Salman Khan, officials revealed on Friday. The message, sent to the city's traffic control room via WhatsApp, included threats directed at the actor, prompting an immediate investigation.

The Worli police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for extortion and criminal intimidation. According to officials, the sender threatened Khan and demanded a substantial sum, with law enforcement agencies now probing the matter. Salman Khan has been the target of multiple death threats in the past, particularly from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In April, members of the Bishnoi gang even fired shots outside his Bandra residence.

In a related development, the Navi Mumbai police arrested Sukhbir Singh, a shooter linked to the Bishnoi gang, for plotting to assassinate Khan in June. Investigations are ongoing to uncover more details surrounding the extortion threat and the gang's involvement.
