The Rs 32 crore gaushala, developed with Indian Oil's CSR funds, will produce 3 tonnes of Bio-CNG daily, along with organic manure, using 100 tonnes of cow dung in a pioneering green initiative

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated India's first self-reliant gaushala equipped with a Bio-CNG plant in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The gaushala, which will produce 3 tonnes of Bio-CNG per day from 100 tonnes of cow dung, marks a major milestone in sustainable energy and waste management. The plant will also generate 20 tonnes of high-quality organic manure daily.

Developed at a cost of Rs 32 crore from Indian Oil Corporation's (IOC) corporate social responsibility (CSR) fund, the gaushala is a model of modern innovation and self-sufficiency. The Indian Oil Corporation will oversee the plant's operations and maintenance, ensuring efficient energy production and management.

In addition to its current capabilities, an extra hectare of land has been reserved for future expansion, promising even greater contributions to green energy and agriculture. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the inauguration via video conference from Bhopal, underscoring the state's commitment to sustainable development projects.
